Calling All K-3 Artists ~ Send Us Your Pictures!
SPI Will Showcase Kids’ Drawings On Our K-3 Site!
SPI encourages kids to draw characters or scenes from the stories on our K-3 Learning Lab site, and we’d love to see drawings of kids in your charge!
If you’re not already familiar with our K-3 Storytelling Learning Lab project, go to: www.storypreservation.org / K-3 Learning Lab, where you’ll find folktales and stories from around the world told by an ethnically and culturally diverse group of award-winning, master storytellers. And deaf and hard-of-hearing kids (and hearing kids too!) will love our American Sign Language interpreted stories.
Drawing is, of course, creative – but more than that, it is an effective way to help students boost the mental images that they conjured up when listening to a story and it helps them retain new information.
Drawing keeps the ‘cognitive fire’ burning and, just take a look at the face of any young artist, it is a source of great pride.
Send us child art via Messenger to our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/storypreservationinitiative or to our General Delivery email address: info@storypreservation.net
We’ll let you know when yours is posted and keep them rotating so we can spotlight them all!!
What teachers or parents will need to do:
Send the first name only of the artist, along with their age, and include on the correspondence the following:
I consent to Story Preservation Initiative using the attached drawing on its social media platform (Facebook) and/or its K-3 Learning Lab website.
It’s as simple as that!
SPI works to positively impact the lives of young people through the sharing of ideas, the transformative power of stories, and the development of educational materials that engage the hearts as well as the minds of children of all ages.
